Wow, thanks for posting. It's reasonable for those attorneys to say that at least they came forward - I wonder how many others hold those types of secrets to their graves? How many people does this one wrongly convicted man actually represent? Almost equally as horrendous as this situation is that he hasn't yet been freed and there's no end date for that? One has to wonder... how much and how does ethnicity figure into this? Does the benefit of the attorney-client privilege for society as a whole outweigh the severe consequence to this man's life? Is this "loophole" even fixable, systemically speaking? And, bringing it down from a system perspective to the perspective of a man, how does one begin to live anything close to a "normal" life after losing so much time? And, who shoulders the blame...? Attorneys? Society? The dead guy who really did the crime? The Justice System? Or does assigning blame at this point become meaningless? What an equally complex and tragic situation - thanks for the posted link.
